Christmas Musings

Christmas Musings

On Christmas Eve, I was inundated with Facebook posts by friends showing their families sitting around tables, playing board games, putting puzzles together, and smiling at the camera with hot chocolate mustaches. Why didn’t I post any pictures like that? Well, my family had different ideas of what the idyllic Christmas Eve would look like. So, what was my family doing? You see, my husband works at a small local liberal arts college, and all of the students were gone…

Advent Wreath

Advent Wreath

This time we bred her to a toy poodle, and I was hoping for maybe 3 or 4 puppies. It seems that this school year is just going to…

New School Year

New School Year

Welp, it’s that time again. Time for another school year. I watch some of the social media posts of my friends who send their kids to school, and their posts are all about how happy they are to finally be getting back on a schedule, nice to have the kids out of the house so they can impart some order, etc. Hmph. Having always homeschooled, I’ve never experienced this phenomena of having a time when I have a stretch of…
